New York City Hip-Hop Theatre Festival

Presidential Authority Grant
To support the Hip Hop Theatre Festival (HHTF), a rapidly growing consortia of young artists who create new works that explore critical issues that face our society. HHTF will expand its venues and solidify its programming in New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC while cultivating venues in other cities. Festival staff will develop and present the work of socially committed young artists who work in the following disciplines; dance, theater, poetry, music as well as interdisciplinary works. HHTF will aggressively market the work to young audiences and will build on past marketing successes by working with sponsors and collaborators to refine its outreach strategies in each city. The scope of activities which this organization engages in will include the development of content for the performances, developing workshops, master classes, and panel discussions for each venue; booking reviews at community art centers for the purpose of attracting new audiences and surveying audiences in an effort to enhance, improve and grow the festival.
