To support the William J. Brennan Jr. Center for Justice and their efforts to protect the First Amendment Rights of legal services clients, museums, universities, medical clinics, foundations and other institutions that rely on government grants to finance essential work. In Dobbins v. Legal Services Corporation, the Brennan Center is representing a coalition opposed to a set of federal funding restrictions that suggest in part, that if an organization receives as little as one dollar in federal funds, all other funds will be subject to those federal restrictions. Support from the Nathan Cummings Foundation would enable the Center to continue litigation on this issue, identify other stakeholders, engage in a public education campaign, generate literature and provide speakers to organizations that want to learn more about the issues.
