Presidential Authority Grant For membership and general support of the Consultative Group on Biological Diversity (CGDB) for 2003. CGBD works to 1) create partnerships among funders in order to strategically address the challenges of accelerated biological degradation and the increasing threat to global biodiversity; 2) improve the quality of grantmaking by connecting member foundations with significant opportunities worldwide and with respected scientific resources; 3) increase the quantity of grantmaking in support of efforts to conserve biological diversity; 4) identify gaps in current funding patterns and bring them to the attention of foundations which are active in biodiversity programming; and 5) broaden the public constituency for biodiversity conservation.
