Presidential Authority Grant To support the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), a project of Syracuse University, in developing the Environmental Enforcement Tracking System (EETS), a project that uses the Freedom of Information Act to systemically collect information about the enforcement of the nation’s environmental laws and make that data available to the public via a sophisticated and easy-to-use web-based system. This grant will help TRAC to obtain the most current information about environmental enforcement from different parts of the government. The EETS will also expand its outreach efforts by developing an automated alert system that would provide summarized email notices about specific issues that are of particular importance according to each user’s preferences or needs. Users will be able to obtain an understanding of the broad national picture or focus in on particular laws, programs and agencies.
