Presidential Authority Grant
To support the State Strategies Fund, a funder collaborative interested in promoting broad-based coalitions within states, to print and broadly disseminate 2,000 copies of the report, Forging Closer Ties: Case Studies of Labor's Role in Progressive State Coalitions. The report will enable state coalitions, funders, and labor activists to better understand the opportunities and challenges posed by collaborations between labor and other constituency groups in building power for poor and working people at the state level. A central concern around which many of these collaborations are formed is the need for quality health care for all. An initial printing of 2,000 copies of the report has been distributed to date and the State Strategies Fund fields requests for more copies each week. Beyond these requests, the State Strategies Fund will have the opportunity to distribute the report at upcoming meetings such as the meeting of Council on Foundations, the National Network of Grantmakers, and the Field Mobilization Department of the AFL-CIO.
