To support the social justice advocacy and education work of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC): its campaigns for social justice across a wide range of domestic and foreign policy issues; its distinctive role in forging and leading effective interfaith and interracial coalitions; and its ability to mobilize an extraordinary network of leaders to play an effective role in urgent public policy battles. From economic justice to environmental concerns, from international human rights to religious liberty, the RAC continues to be a powerful and distinctive voice, bringing the insights of thousands of years of Jewish teachings and traditions to bear on today's issues. With this grant the RAC can maintain and expand its current level of activity. In particular, the RAC will develop a social action integration initiative to help congregations engage more congregants in tikkun olam (repairing the world) and to integrate social justice into the core of their mission and activities.
