To support the Coalition Building and Policy Development Initiative to build a powerful national coalition to support U.S. efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Israel Policy Forum (IPF) will contract The Cohen Group, headed by former Secretary of Defense William Cohen, or with another consulting group of comparable capability, to develop strategy and coordinate relationships with the business community. IPF staff will work within the Jewish community to identify and support leaders who advocate for peace. Their initial efforts will focus on building support for the peace development plan called the "Road Map," developed by the U.S., the Russians, the European Union and the United Nations. They will encourage the United States government to stick with the Road Map and withstand the pressure to dismantle it. They will also encourage the U.S. to promote regional security by working to bring together many governments in the area.
